Golden Heart Crackers

These golden heart crackers are born from my love of goldfish and cheeze-its. I have been looking for a good recipe and have seen a few but morphed the to be my own little pillows of heaven. NO trans fats, not processed junk, just delightful little crackers! Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour, plus extra for work surface
  • 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 5 tablespoons earth balance
  • 3 tablespoons cold water
Preheat the oven to 375
In a food processor, combine flour, nutritional yeast, salt, onion powder, and turmeric. Process, Add earth balance, and pulse until crumbly. Add water and process until it comes together.
On a lightly floured work surface, roll out the dough until it is 1/8-inch thick. use whatever cute little cookie cutter you have on hand. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden and very lightly browned. Let cool and store at room temperature in a tightly sealed container.

This is going to quickly become your fave salty cheezy snack. I would make a double batch!!!!  If you try them let me know how they came out, and post a pic of the shape you made. Dust of your mini cookie cutters!
